Many doctors suggest taking supplements before your become pregnant so you start off fully loaded with everything that you need to make your baby! This blog is about my vegan pregnancy supplements.

Quarantine hasn’t been so boring…. and Brian and I haven’t been practicing social distancing with each other, apparently 😈😘😅 • @brianmejeur and I are OVER THE MOON about our little Coronial bundle of joy. (JK baby will be generation Alpha). • • I have been tired, nauseous, and elated. I am using lots of quarantine downtime to learn as much as I can about healthy pregnancy, ethical child rearing, how to be the best mama I can be, and sorting through the world of baby products! It’s already so much fun. • • We are already having endless conversations dreaming up the ways we can teach our children how to love ALL PEOPLE, stand up in the face of injustice, protect sentient life, CHERISH and respect our planet, and do good in the world. • • I feel so grateful to have a small select set of trusted parent-mentors to soak up advice from. • • I’m excited to share my/our learnings with you all! Becoming first time parents is rich with new experience and learnings. • • While our travel is limited, our adventures won’t be! I hope to get to share what is fun for you all to see, though the niche of my platforms will certainly be changing. • • Thank you all for sharing in our joy 🥰🥳🍼👶 • • #newbabyannouncement #firsttimemom #firsttimedad #firsttimeparents #firsttimeparentstobe #veganmama #vegandad #plantbasedfamily #healthypregnancy #healthyfamily #adventurefamily #coronial #genalphababy #quarantinebaby #covidbaby

Vitamin and Supplement Notes:

  1. Review all of the supplements you’re currently taking and stop any that seem questionable.
    1. For example I was taking a vegan supplement that had a warning on it to stop taking it if you’re pregnant or nursing. After checking with my doctor, we determined that it blocks a vital baby-building block from my body. So I needed to discontinue that ASAP.
  2. If vitamins make you feel nauseous
    1. You might want to try a higher quality vitamin/supplement or another brand.
    2. Some supplements just do make you a little nauseous. A wonderful hack that I’ve learned is to keep my pill box in the fridge and I take my vitamins and supplements when I’m lying in bed about to fall asleep. This keeps me from being bothered by the upset stomach (or the fish-flavored burps from my vegan-omega-3 supplements).

Morning Vitamins

    • Any vitamins that may give you a boost of energy are best taken early. I take the following supplements with my first meal that has fat in it (mmm, like a Peanut Butter Green Smoothie!)

      With every meal

    • Night Time Supplements
        • Thorne Prenatal
I have tried a lot of prenatal vitamins and this is by far my favorite. I was taking MyKind before because I loved the idea of the nutrients all coming from whole foods. However, after I did some vegan blood work I found that my body wasn’t absorbing the supplements that it needed to! Other prenatal supplements have also been hard on my stomach.
Thorne is a well respected prenatal supplement and has been praised by all of the doctors and midwives I’ve told that I’m taking it!

      Vegan Omega (O-mega-zen-3)
TAKE AT NIGHT – fish burps are so gross!

The actual gender reveal footage! • • You can really see how much of an “internal processor” I am here. I pause and go inside with big information. Or… in a video… I freeze 🤣🤣 • Oh my gosh these videos get me all giddy all over again. What was so exciting about this chromosome reveal for me was that it made it all SO real! • • I read a blog about doing a gender reveal where the parents find out at the same time as everyone else and they said that they thought the baby was a boy, so when the reveal happened and it was a girl, she had a moment of having to say goodbye to the visions she’d started to have about her baby. She was just as excited about a girl baby, but had moments of shifting expectations, and being that vulnerable at a party wasn’t her favorite experience. I felt that and understood that deeply so we did our gender reveal early before telling our family and friends at large. • • This was a magical moment for my incredible husband @brianmejeur and I. Thank you JeffAnie and ThePorkins for being gender guards, calling in our cake order, and celebrating this amazing reveal with us 🥰🥳 • • This makes my heart so full and so big. I am so grateful, so blessed. • • Yes, you guys, I’m crying again. • • We found out gender at 9 weeks pregnant with @sneakpeektest (#ad) and this vegan cake is from @wholefoods (so was our wedding cake!!) • • #genderreveal #vegancake #veganmama #wholefoodsvegan #firsttimeparents
