My Favorite Vegan Podcasts

While they were still a relatively niche form of entertainment only a couple of years ago, today, there’s simply no denying it: podcasts are everywhere, and there’s no stopping them anytime soon! For listeners leading an increasingly active lifestyle, podcasts are incredibly easy to fit in on a daily basis: whether on a commute to work, during a workout or while cooking dinner, mundane tasks become much more exciting with a great podcast in our ears. And for content producers like so many of us are today, podcasts are one of the easiest platforms to use to spread a message or a story that we want to share with the world. There’s definitely a lot to love here!

The beauty of podcasts also lies in how diverse they are. Whether you like fiction, comedy, true crime or history, there is a little bit of everything for every taste out there. In the case of us plantbased folks looking to learn more about the wonderful (although complex) world of nutrition and health, there are hundreds of vegan podcasts to pick out from. It can even be intimidating to not know where to start!

I was lucky enough to be invited on a few fantastic vegan podcasts myself, where I got to talk about everything from my own personal history, my vegan voyages around the world and even relationship issues. These podcasts show interest in many different sides of veganism, from health to ethical concerns, as well as more general questions around lifestyle and personal development. Whatever your interest is, there will be something to like in this list of fabulous vegan podcasts!

  • Food Heals (listen to my episode here!)
vegan podcast

Food Heals is an amazing vegan podcast about health, wellness, and how to achieve a truly empowered life. Allison Melody is an author who has transformed her own life and meets amazing people who have transformed their own! She is especially interested in questions of ecology, social justice, human rights, and how to live the best life possible by using our knowledge of nutrition and nature.

I appeared on the podcast on April 4th of this year to talk about the challenges and rewards of traveling through 21 different countries while leading a completely whole foods plant based lifestyle. While talking with Allison, I discussed some health topics such as the truth behind antibiotic use, and gave a variety of advice about how to make veganism work around the world, from tips about Japan and other surprisingly vegan friendly countries to my own personal recommendations for finding vegan hotels and restaurants. Once you’re done listening to my own story, make sure to give a listen to the hundreds of other episodes that Food Heals has produced so far!

  • VedgeTalk (listen to my episode here!)
vegan podcast

A bilingual vegan podcast, VedgeTalk was created by creative and life partners Matthew Davey and Ana Alarcon (who respectively host the English and Spanish versions of the show). Following their turn to a completely vegan lifestyle in 2016, the couple set out to create a space to share and celebrate leaders of the plant based community in all its diversity.

On top of discussing the vegan voyage with Brian, my episode on this inspiring vegan podcast details my own journey to veganism, including my struggle with serious anorexia, my recovery and what it meant for my plant based lifestyle, my current intuitive eating philosophies, and how to truly reach a healthy relationship with food and your body. If you like my recipes, don’t forget to check out The VedgeTalk’s blog, as well as Ana’s personal website for more eco-friendly and holistic fitness advice. The perfect reading material to go along such a rewarding vegan podcast!

  • Vegan Danielle (listen to my episode here!)
vegan podcast

Danielle is the host of this fabulous vegan podcast. After a long time working in the restaurant industry and a long battle with addiction and a life-changing accident, Danielle found healing through detox, therapy, and a health journey which ultimately led to veganism and a deep dive into vegan cooking. Since then, she has been using her platform to talk with other inspiring vegan personalities and businesses on her own podcast, Vegan Danielle.

Things went deep in my conversation with Danielle, in the way only girl talk gets us to open up. On top of these personal stories, I also give out some of my tips for vegan traveling and how to veganize any cuisine in the world. Make sure to give it a listen!

  • The Plant Code (listen to my episode here!)
vegan podcast

Every week, Max presents fun and informative episodes about a variety of topics in this vegan podcast. Our episode together is a bit of a throwback, as it was recorded in Dubai, about halfway through our vegan voyage. We had just gotten out of our toughest stretch of the trip. By “toughest” I mean that Vietnam, Tanzania, and Egypt, gave us the biggest culture shock. I find culture shock extremely exhausting because you have to think through hundreds of cultural and emotional decisions a day instead of having your subconscious do the job for you. Hear about this and more in our episode!

  • Ciplantgo (listen to my episode here!)
vegan podcast

Cipango (日本国) was a poetic word used by Marco Polo to designate Japan in his writings. If you understand the value of a good pun, you can probably guess that Ciplantgo is about the plantbased side of this beautiful island.

This episode was the first podcast I was ever on. Along with my husband Brian, we cover ideas about our Vegan Voyage before we had even stepped foot in country number 2. This is a fun conversation to look back on from today’s perspective! Our conversation also included many other topics, from romantic relationships to plantbased cheese and lab-grown cheese, while also including our history with activism and what we hope from the future. If you want to know where it all started for our Vegan Voyage, this is the episode to look out for!

We can’t possibly cover all the amazing vegan podcasts there are out there, but we hope this overview can give you some great listening material! Let me know if you listen to any of them, and share your favourite vegan podcast in the comments or tell us about them on Instagram
