Vegan Voyage Cambodia
Thanks for checking out our Vegan Voyage Cambodia! We are on a 21 country vegan voyage over 5 months to enjoy vegan food from all parts of our planet, connect the vegan community, spread the vegan mission, create ethical consumer guides, and have a blast while doing it.
Country number six was Vegan Voyage Vietnam.
Country number seven is Vegan Voyage Cambodia.
You don’t drink the water or flush the toilet paper in Cambodia. You can get massages for $9 USD for 90 minutes and they are amazing. The people are incredibly kind. Cambodia is a hidden gem of a place and Siem Reap is a lovely place to visit.
Vegan Voyage Cambodia Lodging
We are so enamored with Baby Elephant. See our arrival in Cambodia and our room at Baby Elephant on our Instagram Story (pictures of our room coming soon!).
Baby Elephant is a lovely hotel. They have a gorgeous pool, restaurant and seating area, high rise patio for yoga and lounging, and wonderful energy. Baby Elephant is rated one of South East Asia’s Top 10 Best Sustainable Hotels. Their brand is Ethical Sustainable Creative.
BE, as it is affectionately called, is focused on sustainability, doing good in their community, and general goodness. The hotel itself is incredibly lovely. They have a great vegan menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. The rooms are large, comfortable, beautifully decorated, and designed with sustainability in mind.
There is a budget portion of Baby Elephant which will be branded BE Happy. This is targeting budget travelers who are looking for something nicer than a hostel but at the same price. These are less luxurious rooms, next door to Baby Elephant and still having full access to the BE pool, yoga classes, cooking classes, restaurant and more. However, we bet you’ll want to be at the BE Happy restaurant instead as that will be a 100% vegan restaurant!
You can book tours and tuk-tuks through Baby Elephant to go on your temple tours to Angkor Wat, or on bike rides through the local villages, and more.
If you’re living in Cambodia Baby Elephant is a great spot for a meal as well – their vegan menu is so good you will feel great about stopping by just for that even if you aren’t booked at the hotel.
White Rabbit has a small vegan menu, a party pool with a beer pong table in it, and bar crawls. If you are looking for a super-social, alcohol-forward, party hostel, check out White Rabbit.
Vegan Voyage Cambodia Restaurants
A very elegant vegetarian restaurant. Locals LOVE the fish and chips. We didn’t get to try these because we had the vegan set menu which was lovely! Banlle has a strong focus on sustainability.
This is a completely vegan restaurant and co-working space in Cambodia. Wonderfully decorated with thoughtfully designed food. Green Go contributes to other social causes and is well connected with the vegan community.
Lily’s Secret Garden has a vegan menu that is worth trying! Yum!
Vegan Voyage Cambodia Tours
We booked all of our tours through Adventure Travel Co and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide, Sai, was a charming young local man who has gone through extensive training and education to become an excellent guide. He shared stories about his life growing up in Siem Reap, details about the temples and towns we visited, and was incredibly sensitive to the needs of his customers – he could tell when one of us was tired or too wet from the rain or thirsty, and then made moves to take care of those needs.
Angkor Wat and other temples
One of the main attractions for Siem Reap is Angkor Wat. This epic temple is gorgeous and holds so much history. We were lucky enough to get a special tip: When everyone lines up at the pond to wait for sunrise over the temple you go straight in by yourselves. This allowed us to take pictures alone in the temple before the crowd came rushing in! And we were done taking pictures by ourselves in enough time to go walk in with the big crowd!
Phare Circus
Like Cirque Du Solei but with a Cambodian twist! We purchased our tickets through Adventure Travel Co and really enjoyed this Circus!
Vegan Voyage Cambodia Perks
We had an awesome opportunity to make new friends! We met up with a lovely family, Lee, Rachel, Laurina, and Nicholas, who runs Epic Animal Quest – an organization that creates children’s books for underprivileged schools around animal connection and protection. Check out their website, books, and ways to get involved with their beautiful mission.
After Cambodia we went on to country number eight: Vegan Voyage Singapore
