You should know by now from our Vegan Voyage posts that there are few things we love more than discovering new delicious places to eat at during our travels. Our latest spot is at the base of an incredible ski resort, on the bustling main street of Breckenridge, Colorado. With remarkable appetizers, salads, specialty pizzas and delicious desserts, Piante Pizzeria is a bit of a vegan haven. We went down to this health-focused restaurant (the only one of its kind in Summit County!) and got to interview the owner. You can watch our interview with her below to learn more about Piante Pizzeria and their mission. Stick around for even more pictures and stories full of (plantbased) cheesy goodness!
Interview with the Owner!
Piante Pizzeria’s Mission
Peace, love and plants: these could be the magic three words that perfectly summarize Piante Pizzeria’s mission. Restaurants are never only about food, and that is something the owner and his team know very well. They all strive to provide guests with a fun, cozy and welcoming experience from the minute they walk through the door. Building a sense of community is one of their biggest priorities. We have to give them credit there: it’s really not hard to feel at home in their vintage farm decor dining room.
Their food is not only good for the people, but also for the planet. Piante Pizzeria strives to make every being happy and free! They show their beautiful aspiration through their consideration of sustainability in their entire business model. They are part of Summit County’s Resource Wise businesses, meaning that they have reached optimal standards for recycling, energy conservation and eco-awareness. No wonder they’re so loved in their community!
Piante Pizzeria’s Story
Owner Jason Goldstein and his sweet family founded Piante Pizzeria back in January of 2017 (on the 26th, to be precise). After completing culinary school in New York City, Jason created his own dream with Piante. A constantly changing menu based on local ingredients, an “at-home” feel as soon as you step inside and a staff that likes to work as much as having fun… These were some of the key elements that mattered to Jason. These all shaped Piante Pizzeria into what it is today!
We know more than anyone that pizza can be a hit or miss situation (especially those of the healthy vegan variety). Thankfully, if you’re in Breckenridge, you’ll always be in good company. The recipes and topping combinations are completely unique to the restaurant. You can also rest assured that the pizza dough is freshly made on the day you’ll visit them. If you have special diet considerations, just let any member of the warm and caring staff know. They’re eager to please, and want you to be well taken care of. They can make most items gluten and nut free on request! Finally, plant-based food that’s not too good to be true – so why resist? There’s also a wide variety of craft beers, wines and non-alcoholic beverages to pick from, so make sure to give them a try!
For Goodness Seyks’ Experience
Brian and I came to Breckenridge to ski and explore this beautiful little town. We were so impressed with Piante Pizzeria that we kept coming back night after night! I had the best pizza and jalapeno poppers ever and was overjoyed with the service and cozy atmosphere. We would both come back here in a heartbeat. We’ve actually already planning what our next order will be (these garlic knots better watch out for us)! Meeting Twee, the wife half of the owners, was a pleasure. We loved getting to talk to her about Piante Pizzeria and how it came to be.

We absolutely loved our time at Piante Pizzeria and can’t recommend them enough. But what if your next visit to Breckenridge seems too far away? You can still connect with this lovely family-owned business on their Instagram and Facebook pages. Just try not to drool on your screen too much! And for more deliciousness, check out these posts:
