Vegan Dining in Breckenridge

Vegan Dining in Breckenridge

We had some wonderful atmospheres and incredible vegan dining in Breckenridge. We came to ski and eat. We had great success in both departments. We found some restaurants with lovely people who were able to accommodate a vegan diet and even an entirely plant-based restaurant in the sweet little town of Breckenridge.

Piante Pizzaria

This was our favorite place because it is a restaurant full of vegan food in Breckenridge. I can’t encourage you enough to go to this spot. I had the best pizza I’ve ever had at this restaurant, and the story behind the place is even more inspired than the incredible food.

Piante Pizzaria is a completely plant based pizzeria with gluten free options. They have a big, beautiful wood-fired stove in the back and joyful employees dancing around the cozy space. You walk in to see a sign that reads “please wait to be seeded” surrounded by messages from the community about how to get connected to others.

The decorations are beautiful, there are lovely pillows on the seats so you can sit and cozy up while you dine. They have “design your own” pizzas and signature pies that you can pick from.

We tried the jalapeno poppers which are full jalapenos stuffed with a plant-based organic cashew cheese and Beyond sausage. They are amazing. We also had the Angorio pie, the Two Sisters pie, the BBQ, and the Buffalo Soldier. Next time we are back we will order the garlic knots and the White pie. We can’t wait for that day that we get to go back to see them again.

Their ranch is made in house and it is good enough to write home about. They have delicious plant-based cheeses for their pizzas that bring out incredible flavors and leave you feeling energized and amazing after eating it, instead of the icky feeling that can come from lower grade or animal-product pizzas.

We also took a lemon cheesecake to go that was incredibly delicious.

This is a vegan heaven.

The family who owns this spot is incredible. Twee is a globally renown yoga instructor who is living her life by following the calling of the universe to make the world a better place. I will be posting an awesome interview with her soon. Jason picked up his life as a high earner on the east coast to shift careers and become a plant-based restaurant owner for the animals. Their beautiful daughters are Hannah (pronounced so it rhymes with sauna) and Tesla (after the inventor, not the car).

Cuppa Joe

When we first reached out to the owner of Cuppa Joe he told us that veganism is very close to his heart because his wife has been vegan for over 10 years. We trekked over to Cuppa Joe one blizzardy morning and were pleasantly surprised by the laid back “third space” feel that Alex has created. He spoke to us about wanting a place for people that was their third space – they have home, they have work, and they have Cuppa Joe.

The locals casually strolled into the café and ordered their favorite items, discussing the lifts that should be open and the wild storms. Sitting on the counter were cards that were for people to take for free that had precious sentiments of care for others – designed as a project to help with mental health. There were vegan power bars to snag on your way out to the mountains, fresh home-roasted coffee, and a full menu.

We had some awesome food at Cuppa Joe. We started with a tofu burrito. It was a huge burrito with a high quality tortilla that crunched with warm wheaty goodness and was filled with warm grilled vegetables and tofu. Next, Alex brought out an oatmeal latte. Yes, I typed that correctly. An OATMEAL latte. It’s a breakfast and a coffee in one!

Next he shared with us his chia pudding (the name might make the sugar-avoidant balk, but it is a healthy, very lightly sweetened dish that is great for a nutritious breakfast). It has slivered almonds on top and chopped pear. It had our jaw drop.

We also enjoyed an almond mylk latte with a beautiful design on top. I am a coffee lover and this coffee was perfect. It was bold but creamy and smooth at the same time. We grabbed two bags of the Breckenridge Coffee Roaster coffee to take home because it was so good.

Cuppa Joe recently released a brand new CBD coffee, so if that’s your sorta thing, swing by to grab one.

9600 Kitchen

Check out my blog: Resort Review Breckenridge which includes a 6-course gourmet vegan meal with incredible chefs at the DoubleTree Breckenridge. This is one of the best vegan dining in Breckenridge options! It’s a wonderful secret I can give you guys, don’t forget to check it out.

You can head into this restaurant for lunch and ski right off the mountain to the hotel, or come in for dinner after a great day out in Breck. Check out my blog on the awesome meal we had there, seriously.

Breck Brew Pub

Breck Brew Pub is a place with great beer and fun vibes. We went and checked them out and were able to piece together some great vegan food in Breckenridge at this pub!

We ordered the Soy Edamame which were SO delicious! They were spicy so if you’re sensitive to spice, probably stay away from those.

We also veganized the Avocado Black Bean Hummus dish which means ordering it without sour cream and without pita!

For our main dishes we had the black bean soup without sour cream and it was a delicious soup! It was hearty, complex and healthy. Really recommend the soup.

We also had nachos without sour cream or cheese and it left a little something to be desired. Hopefully they will add some vegan cheese in the near future. I would recommend doing just chips and guacamole instead of modifying the nachos.

Finally we had the Sesame Asian Salad

without chicken. This was a good salad.

Note: The black bean patty for the burger is vegetarian, not vegan. So be careful when ordering. However the waiters were really kind and willing to talk through all the options with us, so you can have a joyful time ordering vegan here.

Pho Real

For a fast, casual, warm dish you can swing by Pho Real which has vegan vermicelli and a vegan pho.

If you’re heading that way, let me know what you think!

Breckenridge, Colorado isn’t the only vegan mapping we’ve done. Check out our blog on Vegan Travel in New Zealand!
